It was a bright, crisp, clear day, much like this one, winter had arrived and I’d had enough of studying. I was three and a half years in, to what would become an eight-year journey at university. My creative outlet was no longer fun, essay and academic writing had sucked all the creative life and energy from the thing that had been my creative release: writing. I needed a break, I needed some fun, energy, and colour back in my black, white and blue Microsoft Word document filled days. And so, I’d started tie-dying. Soon I was making batches of stuff. Our house was a rainbow of babies and kids singlets, leggings and t-shirts, in various stages of the drying process. I’d run out of friends and family members to gift my creations to at baby showers and birthday parties, and so my little creative outlet grew into a business. That was three years ago.

Since then, we’ve evolved and grown, had periods of quiet and rest, and grown to include more of my immediate tribe, with Ilah sharing her Save the Turtle project earlier this year and my husband jumping in behind the scenes. We’re getting back to our roots as we learn more about what each of us wants from life and how to continue creating the life of our dreams. Part of this connecting to our roots, includes a return, for me, to my first love – writing – which from time to time I try to share on the blog. The other part of connecting to our roots is to reconnect with our local community through the introduction of a few local events and workshops.

But, as with the nature of all things, energies change and shift, we grow, bloom, return to a state of rest, only to start all over again. I’m excited for what the next 12 months has in store for us!! I’m excited for what the next month has in store. I should probably just drop the time frames and say that I’m excited! I’m excited about life. I’m excited to share our journey with you. I’m excited to hear more journeys from you, our beautiful community, as you create your dreams and find your tribes.

Thanks for all the support over the past three years! I’m so very blessed to have met so many incredible people along the way. Here’s to many more years of dream creating!!

Emma xx
