The past few weeks you may have noticed some posts popping up with these little bottles of essential oils on my Facebook & Instagram feeds. I’ve used essential oils on and off over the years, but have never fully dived right in. A few months ago, after resisting the nudges from the Universe, I finally embraced my natural witch, self-care guru, intuitive, hippie, healer self and opened myself up to the benefits of essential oils in all aspects of my life.
Over the years, I’ve been on a journey of healing and recovery for Endometriosis, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Hashimoto’s Disease, and an assortment of chemical sensitivities. I’ve always incorporated a mixture of western & alternative healing practices in my life, and have experienced the benefits first hand of yoga, acupuncture, Homeopathy, as well as the support of a fertility specialist/gynaecologist, and integrated medical doctor, and many others.
Essential oils continued to show up in my life, particularly doTerra, and for quite a while I resisted. Was I resisting joining a network marketing company? Why? Well, I turned inwards & journaled to get to the bottom of my blocks and limiting beliefs. And I realised it wasn’t the company I was resisting… I was resisting myself. I resisted the witchy-healer-empath-hippie part of me, which was terrified of being judged for who I am. And I realised that people already see me that way anyway ? so I was only blocking myself!!
The other piece to this puzzle was Ilah’s mission to Save the Turtles ??This year has seen us delve into our plastic consumption practices at home and as a business. Cleaning products featured on the list of changes we could make. I began to make our own cleaning products using essential oils. We cut down drastically on the number of spray bottles and containers in our cleaning cupboard. And now we use bicarb, vinegar and essential oils for most jobs.
As my spiritual, wellness and health learning journey continues, I’m amazed (but really shouldn’t be ?) at how essential oils complement so many of the practices in my life. They’ve become part of my mindset, Manifesting, cooking and self-care practices. And now I’m excited to share the doTerra essential oils with you all and how they work with other self-care, healing, and energy work practices!!
(Your intuitive, witchy, nature-loving, self-care yogi, Dreamer!!)
